Hi There, I'm travelling to The Netherlands in a few weeks to work in Rijen for 3 days. I was hoping to stay in Breda for the duration of my stay rather than in Rijen as there is a better choice of accomodation in Breda. I was wondering how easy it is to get from Breda to Rijen. I know that there is a train station in Rijen but I would still have a relatively long walk in the cold and possible snow to my place of work (Ericsson). How much approx would a taxi to Rijen from Breda cost each day? Or altrenatively is it possible to get a taxi from the Rijen train station to my office? Thanks in advance, Lauren
According to the public transportation website you can take a train ( 2 per hour) to the Gilze-Rijen station. From there it's a 9 minutes walk to the Ericsson building. A day return train ticket = € 4,10. An alternative is to take bus #131 of the Veolia company to the Ericssonstraat busstop in Rijen. From there it's a 4 minutes walk. A single fare = 5 "strippen" of the "Strippenkaart" (about € 2,43) You could contact local VT-member MATIM, who will know more ins and outs. PJ
