by Linse Online Now Feb 16, 2013 at 3:07 PM

Hi I tried to seach the internet for a shuttlebus from Bratislava to Parndorf design outlet, but can´t find any. Do anyone know if there is such a service? We really want to go there, but want to have a direct transport. We don´t want to go to Vienna first or take a train and then a bus, maybe you know if there is arranged excursions to there or the last option is to take a taxi, but how much does that cost?? Hope someone knows something :-)

      Day Trip to Skalica

by Cockleshell Online Now Sep 5, 2012 at 12:44 AM

I'm flying to Bratislava this coming weekend. I wish to visit the small town of Skalica for a day trip, leaving approx 9.30am and returning before dark. Am I correct in thinking the journey time is 2 - 2.30 hrs. Ideally I would like to go by bus (changing at Senica) and return by train (changing at Kuty) In order to minimise my waiting/connection times pls can anyone advise on best option and help me with times and frequency of buses/trains? Is it better to go on a Sunday or a week day? . I don't mind the town being 'sleepy' .. but do less trains/buses run on Sundays? oh... and a recommendation for a cafe serving good simple local food would be welcome too.. or i could find a bakery and enjoy a picnic... thank you.

Hey! I need some help deciding my itenary. I am in Budapest till 6 july, after which I was considering Bratislava for a day, and Vienna for one too if it makes sense, after which I want to head onto Prague and stay there for 4 days. Can you recommend the best way to travel from these places? Does the one one day make sense? Also, any recommendations on what to do, it's me and a girlfriend, so we want to hit the good bars and places, that aren't tourist traps. Good hostels to live at would also be appreciated. Sorry about the million questions, just very confused :)

Hello, I'm looking for any recommendations for authentic, cheap and interesting bars to drink in Bratislava. Not into anywhere that's too much of a style bar. Like good music, interesting/unique decor and friendly locals. Does Bratislava have any bars that offer all of these things? I hope someone more experienced can help. Thanks Lisa (Glasgow girl)

      Crystal Shopping

by shibac701 Online Now Mar 20, 2012 at 11:15 AM

I understand Bratislava is a better place to shop for crystal than Prague, Vienna & Budapest. Is this True? If it is, can anyone suggest good value for money outlet which is reliable & is not a tourist trap. Since I am there just for a day, I want to save the time & avoid going around lots of shops to compare price & quality before buying something. Thanks in advance. Cheers

Bratislava Based Activities (around New Years)

Hello all, I'll be in Bratislava for 4 days over New Year's and I've been looking at some ideas for a day trip out of the city (besides Vienna!). I've seen that some historic castles and a Carpathian Wine tour, but I think these may be closed in winter. I was wondering if anybody has any tips for short trips out of Bratislava that can be done at this time of year. I should say I won't have access to a car unfortunately. Thanks, CH Luke

Anyone know the cost of a one way ticket to Bratislava from Budapest and whether the price depends on the time of day you go. Also looking to go back to Budapest from Vienna does anyone know how much this costs (guess much the same)? Web sites give train times but I can't find prices. Thanks.
