Hello, Try this http://www.kismetdao.com/ They have good quotes. I do not know exactly how close to the Railway station it is but Brasov is not very big. They say: A ride from the train station should cost about 3 EUROS or 12 to 15 RON (1.35 RON/KM). Have fun!

As mentioned above there's no point in staying near the train station, try some places that are in/very close to Brasov's old quarter, like Mara hostel (http://www.hostelbrasov.ro/), Jugendstube hostel ( 13 Michael Weiss street) or Aro Sport budget hotel (aro-palace.ro/hoteluri_sport.... If you have three days spend one day visiting Brasov itself, then do a day trip to Sighisoara (two hours away by train, it's a relatively well preserved small medieval city) and another one to Sinaia (a mountain resort one hour and half away by train to visit the Peles palace and the local 17th century monastery) or to the Bran-Rasnov area (to see "Dracula's" castle in Bran and especially the fortress in Rasnov).

Hi I arrived via sleeper train from Budapest in the summer (after stopping at Sighisoara for a couple of nights) Like a previous reply I would certainly recommend getting closer to the old quarter. We stayed in a great Pension called Ambient (Not Hotel Ambient) 10 minutes walk. Not expensive but clean and friendly. Google them if you're interested. However must watch out for rip-offs. We loved Transylvania and the people but the station Taxi drivers are a law unto themselves. When we arrived we were offered a trip to our Pension for 30 Leu. As this was only about £6 I was happy to pay it to get to my Pension. Apparently I found out later on my return to the station, I should have only paid about 4 leu for the journey. They tried to short change me in the Change Kiosk and also I was short changed in some of the bars. Saying that, we did love Romania. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we did.
