Looking for a one-day trip from Brasilia that could be considered an eco location. Thanks,
there are some scapes near Brasília for aday trip but the best is to take a few more extra days and head to Chapada dos Veadeiros, near Alto Paraíso.

For day trips, there's Brasilia National Park, which is in the northern part of town, and has protected an area of Cerrado. Most of the park is off-limits to hikers, but there are 2 trails, one through more open Cerrado and a shorter one through a forested area, as well as natural pools and picnic areas that seem very popular with locals. Watch out for the capuchin monkeys trying to steal your picnic food! If you don't have time for Chapada dos Veadeiros, like the first poster recommended, Brasilia National Park will at least give an introduction to the Cerrado.

This reply is no doubt far too late for you to use, but perhaps it will be useful to others. I was in Brasilia last year and we went to Pirinopolis for a few days, an hour or two away from Brasilia. There is a place just outside Pirinopolis that has a "canopy' tour, introducing various types of rope and wire bridges between treetops. The owner is very concerned with creating an eco-tourism experience.
