I have to go to a conference in Bournemouth in April. Looks like I'll have to fly to Southampton and rent a car to get there. I may want to avoid the conference hotels and stay somewhere more relaxed - maybe an upmarket B&B/guesthouse and maybe even not in the town, but close by. Any ideas out there?
I suggest Wood Lodge! It's in a good location and has reasonable fascilities. Great breakfasts! Mmm... here we are: www.woodlodgehotel.co.uk Enjoy!

Hi Ian - I get to Bournmouth a lot and stay wherever is cheap(ish) - I can heartily recommend The Blue Palms - http://www.bluepalmshotel.com/ Paul and Avril are nice people but the only snag is that they are often fully booked (for the obvious reasons) and so if I can't get in then I make do with wherever. I actually don't like Bournemouth but if I need to be there then such is life. Poole, next door, though is cracking - much better pubs but a darn sight more expensive for hotels
