My flight is arriving around midnight. Is there a coach station at Gatwick where I can take a bus to Bournemouth, or do I have to go to another station, like London Victoria, first? I'd rather not travel 90 mins to London only to head back south later. Also, I looked at railway timetable - don't think they have a train until 7:15 a.m. But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks in advance.
Actually, it seems like National Express coaches depart from Gatwick. The earliest one is at 5:35 am though ;-(

www.nationalexpress.com will give you coach times and fares. There are number of times (earliest is above) and fares are 28GBP one-way. I would be sensible to book online in advance, to be sure of a seat on the coach you want. www.nationalrail.co.uk will give you times and fares. You have no chance of a train there at midnight, but there are trains into London. So it's a choice between 'sleeping' at Gatwick and getting on the early coach, or paying for a night's accommodation in London. One answer might be to book a slot in the Gatwick Yotel; you can pay for time there in blocks of 4+ hours, and at least you'd get a bed and a shower. www.yotel.com
