Hi folks - we arrive in Boulder for a few months later this week. We want to take our kids skiing and want to know the best deals we can get (they are 5 and 8)...does Eldora have a free slope?
Unfortunately, nothing is 'free' per se. Eldora is kinda pricey, but you can get discounts. You might want to check out Arapahoe Basin, as they are usually open past April. Considering ski-fares in Colorado are more expensive than Zermatt, Switzerland, look at discount fares at smaller places. (eg: Loveland, Winter Park and such) Why Boulder, of all places? (Talk about expensive!) Jeff-

I believe kids have to be under 5 for free skiing. Arapahoe Basin has a bunny slope for5-7 per day for just that slope. If your kids already know how to ski some, that will be boring for them, though. You may want to check out Ski Cooper which is about a 2-2.5 hour drive from Boulder. It's very family-oriented and less expensive than the bigger resorts. Once in Boulder, check the grocery stores King Soopers and/or Safeway because they usually sell discount lift tickets. If you go in April, prices are usually much lower than in March. Good luck and have fun!
