Hello all, I need some help we want to travel from Bukarest airport on a Sunday to Botosani the same day. Are there trains/buses leaving around late noon/afternoon/night arriving in Botosani the latest Monday morning? If so, can I purchase the tickets in advance/in the internet? Thank you for helping! Claudia
There is a direct overnight train leaving from Bucharest North station at 11.25PM and arriving in Botosani next morning around 7.19AM. You can book tickets on bilete.cfrcalatori.ro/vanzar... (the train I mentioned above might appear as two separate trains but it's actually the same). To get from the airport to Bucharest North station take the direct express bus 780. It's possible to reach Botosani earlier but you'll have to change trains along the way; for instance go from Bucharest to Veresti (departs 2PM, arrives 8.35PM) then from Veresti to Botosani (dep. 9.55PM, arr. 11.11PM). Buses from Bucharest to Botosani do exist (at 2PM and 9PM, possibly others as well) but they're not a very comfortable option for this long trip, getting to Botosani takes ~8 hours.

A bit more about buses. There's four of them: - two operated by Priscom ( http://priscom.ro/index2.htm ), leaving at 12 noon and 2.30PM ; - another two are operated by Apetrans ( http://apetrans.ro/rute ), leaving at 9PM and 10.30PM ; In theory you can book tickets through their websites. They all leave from a bus terminal near Basarab train station, where you can get from the airport with the same express bus 780.

The train (IR 1755) has cars for both Suceava and Botosani. At Veresti the cars for Botosani are separated and they run until Botosani as RE 5583.
