The old city centre is interesting, but rather small. However there are a few very nice old buildings which were restored. Have a look on the "imagini" section of this website (only in Romanian): http://www.botosani.ro/ They don't offer too many tourist information, but as far as I remember, there were a couple of satisfactory places to have a beer and some frigarui in the central area.
