Just a quick question about the drinking age. I have found out that the drinking age is 18 but I am wondering how much it is enforced? What happens if my 16 year old son is caught drinking under the age of 18?

which part of Borneo? Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei or Kalimantan? because it does matter: Brunei alcohol is allowed only in hotels.

Malaysia is a moslem country but a liberal one when it comes to drinking and Sabah is inhabited by people more Christian and animist than Moslem. So i dont think your son drinking at a hotel with you will face any problem...
