Alternative ways to get to Borneo?

by DiggieBalls Online Now Feb 10, 2007 at 6:33 PM

Me and my girlfriend are travelling to Thailand and peninsular Malaysia at the end of this month. We're planning to get to Borneo too and I wonder if anyone knows any alternative way to get there. Our budget is not too big so we're trying to find something cheaper than by air. There is supposed to be some boat but i haven't found any info on it...
Anyone know something about this?

    HI!

There is a budget airline Air Asia that will connect you from KL (http://www.airasia.com) to East Malaysia, and from East Malaysia, via its daughter company, Fly Asian Express (airasia.com/site/en/fax/home... into Kalimantan (the Indonesian part of Borneo)

You might be able to secure good air deals.

Thanks for the quick reply, but it seems a little costy, though. Aren't there any other ways to do it? It stands between not getting there or doing it low budget stylee and....

I could offer no other advices, aside from the budget airlines connections.

I have not heard of any seafaring connections myself but I could well be wrong.
Why not check out these 2 Malaysian tour agencies and see if the necessary info is available:

    Good luck then!
