Hello I am considering going to Borneo in mid/end december for 3/4 days...is it worth going for such a short time and at this time of year? I'd love to go on a nature tour to see the orangutans etc but most last a lot longer time wise than I have available and are extremely expensive (well comparatively compared to the rest of asia and for my budget) Please advise if this side trip is worth while and if so ideas on tours and where to base myself would be appreciated. Hi, which portion of borneo are you interested in? brunei, sabah, sarawak or kalimantan? with 3/4 days, and nature tour plus orangutans thrown-in, suggest you visit brunei and go with eco-tour group into the jungles of tutong to see orangutans in the wild. you could then do side trips to labuan island or mulu caves in sarawak. dec would be monsoon season, so expect wet weather.
