I haven't been to Öland for some years now but it's a good holiday destination. Borgholm is of course the hub with most of the nightlife whilst the rest of the island has scenery. The World Heritage Nature site Alvaret with its moorland and one of our most famous bird sites at the southernmost point of the island are worth seeing. As for nightlife, I was too young last time I was there but Borgholm is a known summer city wity pop concerts in the well kept castle ruins and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The royal family has its summer residence in Solliden nearby so of course there are things to do for the party princess Madeleine and her somewhat calmer big sister :-) For families, it is a good destination because of its beaches. There is also Ölands Zoo and Amusement Park which will keep children happy. Finally, there is always the city of Kalmar nearby with its very impressive castle for a rainy day - one of the best in Sweden. Read more here: olandsturist.se/eng/default....
