Is it possible to go, from Bordeaux, for a day trip canoeing on a river? If we don't have a car that is.

There is river kayaking on a river named Leyre, kayaking there is called Canoe-kayak sur la Leyre.

Start is at a leisure centre named Centre du Graoux, or: Centre d'animation du Graoux.

You can also combine kayak and bicycle trips. I found the kayaking on the river very nice, I think part of it was on the Camino de Santiago, or at least we crossed it.

    More info here:

The Leyre is a 90 km long river that flows into the Baie d'Arcachon south-west of Bordeaux.

If you click on the map (Cliquer ici pour afficher la carte) and then scroll down to Centre d'Animation du Graoux you see on the map exactly where it is (bicycle symbol).
