Pls help me plan our Boracay trip

by neworchid Online Now Jul 7, 2012 at 3:18 PM

Hi everyone, My husband and I are planning a trip to Boracay late November (25th onward). We're not crazy-adventurous but like to try new things and have fun. Based on what we've read, we think we'll go for snorkeling, banana boat ride, island hopping, visit to crystal cove cave. How many days do we need to do all that? I was thinking 3d-2n but am not sure if that's enough. For example, will the island hopping include the visit to the crystal cove cave or are they separate? Can anyone be so kind as to break down estimated duration for those activities mentioned? Any other activities we should try? Thanks much! Menchie

If you intend to fly via Caticlan, 3d/2n may be enough as you only need an hour at most to reach your hotel from Caticlan airport. However, if you will fly via Kalibo, make it 4d/3n as travel time alone could eat up about 3 hours (excluding flying time). When we had our island hopping tour, Crystal Cove was part of the itinerary. We spent about 4-5 hours on this activity including lunch.

In my opinion, 3D 2N will be enough even if you decide to go to Boracay via Kalibo. We've done that twice. You didn't say what time you'll arrive at Boracay, but whatever time you arrive, there are many things you can immediately do. If you arrive in the morning, I suggest you first go for a leisurely walk after you settle down in your resort/hotel. Explore your surroundings: the restaurants, souvenir shops, water sports stations, etc. For sure, you will be approached by touts, but don't give in to anyone at once; canvass for the best deals in island hopping and other water sports activities. You can tackle the banana boat ride, jetski, and paragliding in half a day. It's nice to have the reef walk early morning when the water is not rough and take a romantic paraw sailing during sunset. You can do the snorkeling during the island hopping tour. There's really so much you can already do in 3D 2N. Go over the Boracay Travel Pages of VTers so you'll have an idea of what else you can do...Enjoy your Boracay trip!

Three days is better than nothing but in my opinion is not enough time to include much relaxation. Try taking a sunset tour by native paraw sailboat. Island hopping tours by motorized banca boat can include a stop at Crystal Cove Resort on Laurel Island if you request it.

Yer 3 days would be enough but to be honest, boracay is so beautiful i think you need much longer because you need at least 1 whole day of chilling on the beach sipping cocktails :)

Spending 3 days max in the island is not bad at all. You can enjoy some sea & land activities in the Island.. and at the same time relax & enjoy the powdery white sand beach of Boracay. You just have to manage your time and set priorities on those activities that you want to experience.... Happy Trip!

Three days isn't really enough to get any proper feel for the island, let alone try all the activities. But it is better than nothing if that's all the time you have. Just pick one or two things and combine activities such as paraw sailing, island hopping, snorkeling and sunset cruise on one boat instead of many.
