We are flying into Tahiti via Air Tahiti Nui and then taking Air Tahiti Interisland flight to Bora Bora. Are the carry-on restrictions for Air Tahiti (Interisland) at one bag at no more than 6.6 pounds for real? Any way to get around this?
My husband and I went to Tahiti for our honeymoon. When flying the inter flights, you are on a very small plane with limited overhead space and limited under seat space. They are pretty strict on the size and weight that you can bring on the plane, however you can check extra bags. We didn't get charged, but the plane also wasn't full. If your bag is too heavy, they may consider it freight and then you will need to check their policy for that. Here's a good place to look:

Great answer from USC twin. The airplane is smaller than a Regional jet, so yes, you will be limited to a small carryon, but we just checked our bags. Bear in mind, unless you are going to Bora Bora for months, you really do not need much luggage!
