Getting Around Bora Bora

by papayaman Online Now Mar 10, 2013 at 10:00 PM

My wife and I will be staying at Le Meridien Resort. How do we get to the Viatape area once we are dropped off by the Resort Shuttle Boat? What is the best way to get around the Main Island for shopping and sightseeing. We know that our Resort will be able to make dinner reservations and the Restaurant will pick us up.

Taxi is expensive as well as a rental car or you can rent a scooter or a bicycle. the buses don't really come and go and unreliable. you are stuck at the resorts, but you can always ask your coinceriege if they have a shuttle into town.

I personally loved renting a small 2 seater car. We were able to come and go as we pleased, parking was always available, and we stopped for so many pictures that it wasn't a pain on the taxi driver.

Ask your hotel about their water taxi service or shuttle service. If they don't offer that, other nearby hotels might, or you can walk down to the public beach and negotiate a price.
