Is this a good choice without going too high end? Do they have meal plans and how is the Internet access and phone service for calling back to the United States?
We stayed at the Bora Bora Sofitel which was fabulous. They have 3 types of rooms, garden rooms, which are close to the pool and beach and are the least inexpensive, beach front, and overwater bungalows, bungalows being the most expensive.
They also had a meal plan which included all you could eat breakfast and dinner. Lunch was not part of the plan. We would take snacks from the breakfast (boxed cereals, fruit, etc) and eat those during the day and if we were really hungry, we found nearby restaurants that were a lot cheaper for lunch options.
At the Sofitel they had internet and phone service, but of course you have to pay a day rate or hourly rate for the internet and have to pay for your phone. They did have phones in the rooms.
If you're looking for a cheaper option then I would check out Hotel Maitai
