My child will be celebrating a 13th birthday in Boone. We're coming up just for the evening to celebrate. It will be a Friday night midsummer. Any ideas for a fun & interesting celebration? Dinner? Picnic?

Girl. We'd like to do something we can't do in Texas. The mountain sounds like fun, but are there places to buy a picnic dinner? cake? Is there a grassy place with a view? How late does it stay light in the summer? Maybe a restaurant with an amazing view/patio and good food?
