Riding Stables?

by foxie Online Now Aug 23, 2011 at 4:03 AM

Hi all, I've heard amazing things about the Corsican countryside and since we've already planned to do a lot of hiking during our trip, I thought a half day horseback riding might be a nice change. However, I've not been able to find any references to riding stables in or near Bonifacio where we will be based. I've found lots of references to nearby stables, but not any names or contact details. The tourism website is similarly unhelpful. Any suggestions?

I haven't been to Corsica though I was a keen rider and do envy you!

    I've found this one:

    leranchsandiego.com/ranch_sa...

and there may be more here:

    ride77.com/en/france/corsica...

Just to add to Leic's choice you have also the :

    Ferme equestre de Pomposa www.fermepomposa.sitew.com/

But I would add that the Ranch San Diego looks the better proposition.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! Keep them coming :)

Also I'm thinking I'll wait for the first full week of September to email since I imagine they are all off on holiday (like the rest of my European colleagues). Or do you think since tourist season would be their busy time they might be around more now than early September?

I think it unlikely that riding stables will be closed during the summer, to be honest. At least, not those who do cater for visitors.

I'd contact them now and, if you don't get a reply within a couple of weeks , perhaps re-contact them.
