Any nice winery or Wine Festival that I can visit in Bolzano or near Bolzano?

Dear All, I got to know that there is one Wine Festival in Merano and the tourist information guy suggested me to go there. Is it worth to go to have a look? I am really interested in wine and also some good winery too! Anyone know any good one around in Bolzano? Is it expensive to go to visit them? Thanks!

Bolzano is a wine-lover's paradise with miles of vineyards. Two of the most successful local vintners are Alois Lageder: (telephone 011-39-471-920164; fax 011-39-471-931577), which produces a Sauvignon Blanc called Lehenhof and an incredible Pinot Grigio called Benefizium Porer; Then there's Schloss Turmhof: telephone 011-39-471-880122), makers of a host of Pinot Biancos, Chardonnays, Rieslings and the unforgettable Müller Thurgau. The best time to visit is September/October. You will need to call in advance to book a wine tasting.
