Odd sights in Bojnice Castle

by GentleSpirit Online Now Oct 19, 2011 at 7:56 AM

I recently visited Bojnice castle and saw something very strange when looking at the sarcophagus they show you at the end of the tour. If you look closely on the ends of the sarcophagus....on each end of the cross there is what appears to be the figure of a monkey....can anyone explain this?

Hi Val, I have not noticed the monkey, I have to look it up somewhere. You have asked me about hte statue in Zilina, but I do not know which one it was. Perhaps Stefanik? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milan_...

No, it is the brown sarcophagus at the end of the tour that presumably contains the remains of Palffy himself. i really wish i had taken a photo of this, it was a very strange sight in this castle. below i found an old newspaper article about Bojnice and some tales they have, but it deal with something a little different from what i was asking. articles.latimes.com/1993-05...
