As you will know, August is peak holiday season in the UK. House-sitting is really not all that common and such services are usually accessed through agencies such as http://www.housesittersltd.co.uk/ You could, perhaps, google 'house sitting uk' and check out some of the agencies....but I suspect you would not be eligible because you do not live in the UK. An alternative might be to explore the home swap agencies, which cater for short swaps e.g. http://www.guardianhomeexchange.co.uk/

When you find somewhere you may be interested in ask here about the location. Central Blackpool is a bit wild - you must avoid streets where young people choose to stay in the cheap bed and breakfasts. Choose Lytham, Poulton, Bispham, Cleveleys or the area near Peel Park.
