Biarritz in October

Hi. I am contemplating a trip to Biarritz in the first week of October and my questions are as follows: 1. Is the surf still good in October or is it usually too rough/cold 2. Is the nighlife very expensive? 3. Any recommended friendly bars where I'm likely to meet people? I'll be travelling alone. 4. Anyone gonna be there around that time anf fancy a cheeky biere? Alex
