      Gdansk Jan 3, 2015 at 7:33 PM

When is the best time to see all the leaves turn gold in Kashubia? I saw beautiful aerial photos by Kacper Kowalski but all they say is the photos are in Kashubia, with no details as to where exactly are the photos taken and when? Could you help me with more specific details of time and places, please?
      Thanks,

    • easy hiking in the Bieszczady National Park

      Bieszczady 20 hours ago

I'm taking 32 friends to Poland this October. We'd love to do some hiking in the Bieszczady National Park. I wonder if our coach (50 seats) can get right up to the Biexzczady mountains?

If it can, could anyone suggest where we can do some easy hiking with beautiful autumn view, please? (Most of us are over 60 but good walkers although not very strong.)

      Wroclaw Dec 29, 2014 at 4:19 PM

Hello, I'm joining my husband on a business trip at the end of January for one week. He is visiting a company in Olawa Poland. We were thinking about staying in Wroclaw. He needs to be at the company for Tues., Wed. and Thurs. We thought if we left on Fri. from Toronto, Ontario, we would take advantage of a stop over and also try to visit one other place for a couple of days before arriving in Wroclaw. Any suggestions on where to stop over first? When we arrive in Poland any suggestions on places to visit, stay and eat would be very helpful, also what kind of weather would we be in for at the end of Jan.? Thank you for any advise or suggestions.

      Travel in Poland

      Poland Jan 14, 2015 at 12:39 PM

      Hey everyone
I'm traveling in Poland early Febuary and am trying to get some advice on transport from people who have done it. Within the week I will be going from Krakow to Warsaw to Gdansk. I am on a budget, so would to bus or train be better? Any estimations of prices? I looked up trains from Warsaw to Gdansk but it quoted £18 and it sounds abit much (I payed £17 for my whole flight over there!!)
I don't mind doing the buses but I don't want to waste my already short trip on a bus

Anyway, some advice would be great :)

      Bialystok - Kaunas

by Drugness Online Now Jun 30, 2011 at 11:23 AM

      Hello all.
      Me again
I'm hoping to travel from Bialystok - Kaunas on a Thursday morning/evening.
The problem is, i see the bus doesn't go on a Thursday and that the train (leaving B. around 10.15) doesn't arrive in Kaunas until about 16.30 (LT time)so the day is pretty much gone

Can you knowledgeable folk tell me if these are my only 2 options to get to Kaunas?
I would have loved to hire a car to cover this route but as i understand it cross-border carhire is a pretty big no no.

      Thank you all!

      Car hire in Bialystok

by Drugness Online Now Jun 23, 2011 at 5:01 AM

      Hello all
Sorry for opening a new post on this but can someone who is in the know please tell me what car hire companies are available in Bialystok?
I know that Hertz are not there, but Avis are... but the prices for short term car hire are just scandalous... so if you know of others in the area, i'd love to hear about them!
      Thanks!

      Cultural attractions close to Bialystok

by Drugness Online Now Jun 20, 2011 at 10:45 AM

      Hello all
I understand this region is very good for nature lovers so thats great, as i plan to visit Augustow too
I'm not into spending nights camping or hours hiking, and because of this does that make this region a little unsuited to me? I'd like to experience the outdoors but also immerse myself in the cultural side of things.
Are there are towns or villages near Bialystok which i should definitely visit to see fine examples of restored architecture, castles or nice old towns?
I'm debating whether its really worth my while stopping off in this region during my trip, or just spend more time closer to somewhere like Olsztyn?
      All tips are much appreciated!
      Regards
      DG

Is there a website with local phone numbers or names of residents and their addresses I could access? If anyone knows of a website like this please post. Thank you.
