About how far is Manger Square from the checkpoint when coming from Jerusalem? Is it in walk able distance and is it advisable to walk?
I took a shared taxis which was not expensive. You can walk but it is a quite long walk (sorry but I don't know how long). Going back I took a bus that stopped not too far away from the check point.

If you walk from the check point to manger square its about 20 minutes. I think its a great walk and gives you a great change to see the city while walking. Feel free to ask the locals for directions. you might have to convince them that you want to walk (for sport) but after that they tell you how to get there.
