Hi, We will be visiting Berlin right after Easter weekend & was keen to visit the Reichstag Dome. Saw some posts on VT suggesting pre booking for Reichstag dome visit. Few clarifications. Is it an absolute must to pre book or is it just to help save waiting time? Which website do we have to go to pre book? We dont plan to eat at the restaurant, is the pre booking still necessary? Would appreciate feedback on this please. Cheers Shiba
When I was in Berlin the last time you could still queue (for several hours LOL) to get into the Reichstag and did not need a reservation. Looking at their website bundestag.de/besuche/kuppel.... now it says that you need to book at least two working days in advance and not more than two months in advance. There is an online booking form: visite.bundestag.de/BAPWeb/p... For visiting the dome only you need to tick the last box. On the next page you have to tell them the number of people visiting, type in the security code, then tick date and time, finally your personal data.

You need to prebook now for security reasons but you'd want to do it anyway - the queue was just too long before.There are better things to do in Berlin than waiting in line for some hours.

Yes, when we were there last May you had to book in advance, and two days in advance at that. We hadn't realised and turned up on spec, only to be refused admission. By the time we got back to our hotel that evening to go on the internet and book, we were already too late to book for the following day, and as we were leaving the day after we had to miss out altogether. So do plan ahead and book the tour. You can only register online, and you do so here: bundestag.de/htdocs_e/visits...

You have to book online, and only online, at least 3 working days in advance, and give a "choice" of 3 (I'm pretty sure it's 3) combinations day/time, number and full ID of visitors. You won't know which day/time will be accepted until you get the confirmation email, so plan accordingly.

Hi Thanks everyone. as advised I went to the website & requested for the prebooking & have got my booking confirmation today. Yes, I had to give 3 options & fortunately my first option got accepted. So thanks to you guys, I am now quite sure of making it to the DOME !!! Cheers
