Southern M25 car trip with dogs

I am familiar with the M40 motorway but have little knowledge about the M25 part of the journey.
Does anyone know any suitable junctions to aim-for where we might branch-off for a short distance in order to give the dogs and ourselves a break?
We'll eventually pick-up the M20 which looks a little more rural!

We will be travelling by car, we like to experience a little luxury when we go away, but we are by no means 'loaded'.

      Windsor Oct 10, 2010 at 6:39 AM

      Good day for all

Question for ‘em parents whom already had their pockets emptied in Legoland…

My son is a big Lego fan, much like the child that hides within his dad… we plane to end our London vacation visiting Legoland, actually departing to Heathrow just at the end of the visit. I know there is a mega Lego store in the park: does anyone remembers how were the prices there compared to Toys R Us or Hamelis for instance? I don’t mind paying 10% more for the adventure of buying Lego at Legoland, but would prefer to do my shopping in Toys R Us the day before, if the difference is bigger.

      Thank you for your help.

Weplan to leave our luggage at the airport. Is it doable for us to go to windsor? I realize that we probably won't be able to go inside the castle but could we see from outside? Will most things be closed by the time we get there? What would be the best way to get to Windsor? (train, bus or taxi) Does anyone have any suggestions how we could spend the evening? (We're planning to sleep at Yothel in Heathrow as our flight leaves early in the morning and we don't want to deal with hassle of getting to Heathrow in the morning.

      where to stay?

      Ascot May 4, 2008 at 12:46 PM

Thinking of going to Royal Ascot this year (on the Saturday).

Any ideas for somewhere to stay? We'd be driving, and coming from Heathrow, so somewhere west/south west of the airport but not in Ascot itself...

Don't like "country house" type places. Happy with budget chains.

One other question - if my 14 year old comes along does he have to stick to the general admission rules too (collar & tie - no jeans etc)? He'd look a bit of a pratt in his school uniform! Thats all he has apart from leisure clothes. Maybe I could rent a kilt for him!

      Hi,

As my fiance and I will be traveling to London and we are still finalizing the plans, we are thinking of going to Windsor and Eton, through the Green Line coaches.

I am just wondering, do I have to purchase the coach ticket beforehand? Perhaps online? Or can I just find a counter or kiosk and buy my tickets there?

And realistically, if we see everything quick... a same-day return is still doable, right?
