Hey there, if anyone is leaving from Bergamo airport to anywhere any time soon, PLEASE, PLEASE, let me know - a friend and I were there yesterday and my friend has left behind something incredibly important - between checking our hand luggage in and going to our gate 6 there are some toilets, in the female side my friend there left a book, signed by the author with a very personal note that means the absolute world to her. My email is samlaming@hotmail.com, maybe the cleaners have got rid of it, we've tried the lost and found but no luck, this is super, super important to me and my friend and anyone able to help would mean the world. The book is called pa kanten. I am willing to pay anyone who finds the book an agreeable amount for their time effort and postage. Mucho gracias!
Hi, we are considering trying a short cruise holiday from Savona but nearest airport (flying from Ireland) seems to be Bergamo. We would be arriving the night before the cruise departure date (at end of May) and flying out of Bergamo again two days after cruise finishes. The return flight leaves very early in the morning. Can someone please advise us on travel between bergamo airport and savona port/recommend where to stay before and after cruise? We will be travelling with three kids and two grandparents who are not fit for steep/long walks or heavy lifting but we do plan on travelling as light as possible (flying with ryanair!) If all this has already been answered please feel free to direct me to the relevant threads - thank you :-)
Please can anyone tell me how to go from the airport Orio al Serio to Ranica. It will be my first time in Bergamo and also I will carry a LOT OF BAGGAGE, because I will stay one year in this city. I really hope I will enjoy it. Thank you in advance.
Hi:-) I wanted to print out the different sheets about the restaurants and activities in Bergamo today, and unfortunately I get an error message (which I hope is only temporary) but the result is that I cannot see the Bergamo pages at all. I will come to the early registration on Thursday at 4pm, but can anyone tell me the name and address of the restaurant where we'll be eating on the 31st? Thank you in advance for your help:-) Ellen
I will be arriving in Bergamo in August and will drive to Albino and Gorno. Can anyone recommend accommodation in either of those places for 1 night? Also, is there a free walking tour of Bergamo?

Hi, we are flying into Bergamo on April 1st for 3 days without our children. We would like to do some hillwalking, eat good food and stay in somewhere with a bit of character. As our time is short we would prefer to stay as local as possible and get all of the above. Any ideas?? Really appreciate any feedback
Does your area typically experience flooding when the Alps melt? There has been so much snow this winter, we are concerned that the roads may be impassible. We are planning to travel through Bergamo in early-mid May 2012, and are interested in seeing the mountains to the north - ex. Stelvio area.
I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF ANYBODY COULD ADVISE ON BEST WAY TO TRAVEL WITH GROUP OF 7 INCLUDING BABY FROM BERGAMO AIRPORT AT 10AM ON MONDAY TO LAKE GARDA AND ALSO HOW TO GET FROM LAKE GARDA (PESIHIERA) TO BERGAMO AIRPORT ON RETURN JOURNEY LEAVING AT 7 AM IN MORNING. (CAR HIRE FOR 10 DAYS IS 1100 EURO WHICH IS CRAZY)
Our cycling group will arrive in Bergamo Sat. afternoon, ending with a farewell dinner that night. I will stay an extra day at Hotel Piazza Vecchia Sunday, and have a plane to catch at MXP at 3(15:00) on Monday. I just realized my extra day is a Sunday, and wonder what will be open? Any suggestions for moderate restaurants nearby dining solo? Cost of a taxi to the train station in the a.m.? How much time should I allow for taxi and purchasing ticket for train to Milan Centrale, and then to MXP so I can be there by 12:30 to 1? I will be anxious about making the plane on time, LOL I am so looking forward to cycling the Lakes area, and Bergamo looks lovely!!Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
Hello friends, We have 1 hour from landing to train which must catch from Bergamo. Perhaps with bus is possible, but a little delay will break plans, so variant 2 is taxi, is it too expensive from airport to railway station Bergamo. Also does the cost depends where from take a taxi - for example from office of taxi company in airport, on the street, a there illegal taxi drivers? Which is "normal "price Thanks in advance!
I'm going to book a room at Myrooms b. and b. Has anybody stayed there?
Is this street far from the train station?
Is the train station outside the older town. if yes, how do i get into the old town. also what should I look out? Any interesting sightseeing, I should go/visit. Once in the town, Can sightseeing by foot ?? thank you Lena
I was hoping to take the train from bergamo to Lake Garda 6,9,11 but i think there may be a train strike, can any one confirm this and if so what are the altrnatives?

Hi, my mum and her friend fly into Bergamo on the 24th September and will be travelling to Bellagio via the local train. I have found out that they will have to catch the bus connecting the airport to the train station, train to Varenna and then the ferry to Bellagio. They are a bit concerned about the ease of buying the tickets to complete their journey. They will not clear airport customs until 1830ish, will the train station be manned or will they have to buy their tickets from a machine? If so where are the machines located? Is purchasing the bus tickets a simple procedure? Thanks in Advance Si. Just seeing it in black and whit will allay any fears they have.
Hi ragazzi, We are a family, traveling on small bicycles, like Graziella. On September, 7, we are coming to Bergamo and starting our trip. Just upon arrival I would like to buy some bicycle parts and a map. So, I have 2 questions: 1. Where can I get spare parts for simple bicycles in the center of Bergamo, or around Orio al Serio? 2. Is there a map like "Bergamo e dintorni", and where is a good shop with maps in Bergamo? Many thanks in advance, Romanix il viaggiatore http://romanycz.blogspot.com/
My friend is flying with her family to Bergamo tomorrow. They haven´t booked the traintickets and now she´s little worried if the trains are really full right now. They are going to Monterosso Al Mare. They have 2 hours for train to go after the flight lands and need to change at Milano.
Hi, I am traveling with three others from bergamo to Pesciera del Garda, does anyone know what the train fair will be, I have been on the train website but it will not give me a price. Or is there a bus service that i can use. Thanks
Thinking about some adventurous plan to go. Example: put the car on the train to Bar, take the ferry across the Adriatic to Bari, drive from Bari to Bergamo.
Hi there,I would like to find out how can I get from the Bergamo airport to Albano Sant'Alessandro via Tonale? And how far they are from each other?Would be greatfull for any information;)Thanks
How safe is it to walk from the railway station to hotel Mercure Palazzo Doci at say midnight with suit case, i know it is only a 3min walk, but i would not walk 3 mins in some of the places i live. I am considering catching bus from airport at 22:10 to railway station then walking. Or getting a taxi direct to hotel. Thanks for advice.
Hello again friends, One thing we have decided to do is to take a trip on the Bernina express whilst in Italy, as you know we are staying in Bergamo as we have family there,so i am here to ask if there is anything i need to know, things to do whilst in St Moritz. On return we will stay in Sondrio as we also have distant family there on my wife's side by the name of Della Madalena they are in the Montania area somewhere, sometimes it is hard to locate distant relations, just hard to get any information, We are also connected to Gorno but to get any info is like getting blood out of a stone, sorry bit off track there. Regards George

I plan to come in mid of January, and I think to stay at Citta Alta. I would like to know how will be the public transportation at that time? It will not be affected by the weather? What time the shops close?
It has been some time since i last visited the town of Gorno,Gorno is where my Grandparents came from and at that time there was no public transport from Bergamo to Gorno, does anyone know if that has changed,i dread the thought of having to hire a car also is there any accommodation available in that area. Thank you
Hello all, We, that is myself my wife and my wife's sister will be in Bergamo from 28th May 2011 until the 28th June 2011, if there are similer travellers visiting Bergamo that want to meet up for a meal/coffee let's know, we are in our 60's. I am arranging a trip for 9 men who will be staying in the Lower Town of Bergamo, next May 2011. I have booked the accomodation near to Porta Nuova and was hoping for recommendations for places to eat a good basic meal around this area. I know there are good restaurants up in the old town, but some are a bit pricey and the guys will not be bothered about location, just good food at the right price. Thanks. :o)
