by greynomad Online Now Nov 27, 2010 at 4:27 PM

It has been some time since i last visited the town of Gorno,Gorno is where my Grandparents came from and at that time there was no public transport from Bergamo to Gorno, does anyone know if that has changed,i dread the thought of having to hire a car also is there any accommodation available in that area. Thank you

Hi greynomad, For Bergamo area, I found a bus line from Bergamo to Ponte Nossa, then Ponte Nossa to Gorno. There may be better info but this could be a starting point. I put in the fictitious date 30 November (December yielded no results yet.) I put in departure time from 08:00 hrs. I typed BERGAMO in departure point, and GORNO in arrival point. To get info from Bergamo to Gorno, I had to click "Corse di ritorno" (otherwise you get from Gorno back to Bergamo.) First result (scroll down to see options) departed Bergamo stazione S.A.B. at 08:10 Arrival Ponte Nossa at 08:57 hrs Depart Ponte Nossa at 10:35 hrs Arrive Gorno 10:50 hrs Trip duration: 2h40minutes The link doesn't give all this info automatically. You have to type yourself: departure point, final destination, desired time of departure and click "Corse di ritorno" (Return route) in appropriate windows, and do the search. Ponte Nossa is true NORTH of Bergamo on the map. Gorno is slightly WEST of Ponte Nossa on same map. Hope the link gives you an idea. I checked for trains from Bergamo to Ponte Nossa, and to Gorno, but got no results. ro.autobus.it/RO/asp/Ricerca... don't hesitate to ask for help with translation if needed. Good luck!
