There are 6 of us looking for a place to stay over Christmas in Berchtesgaden - preferably somewhere close to or even on the slopes as we are all keen snowboarders/skiiers. Also - how far are the ski areas from the main part of town, I have seen a few different places but not sure where they are in relation to both town and slopes? Cheers Matt
There are some hotels in the town of Schönau am Königssee. Here's 2 I found that are reviewed on the VT page for that town. It's only 4.5 km away from Berchtesgaden and a busride only took about 10 mins. The bus stops across from the McDonalds right in front of the Jennerbahn lift which is a popular ski slope. I noticed one across the street from the train/bus station for about 30 Euro/night. I stayed in the youth hostel just outside of Berchtesgaden for about 14 Euros/night if I remember correctly.
