I think it's about four hours from Accra to Lome, at the Togo border, then it takes a short while to cross - they're not all that thorough. Then Lome to Cotonou is perhaps 2 hours but you'll have to stop again and cross the Benin border and those folks ARE very thorough. The buses are very cheap in Accra - maybe 20,000 cedis from Accra to Lome? (about U.S.2.00) and only slightly more expensive in Togo and Benin. The buses go often and are not on any schedule except that when they're full they go. Hint: If there's a billy goat being stuffed under your seat wait for the next bus - makes for too interesting of a trip.
