Hi, I'm going to Benidorm for the 1st time, mid July weekend. We'll have the "kids" with us, a 19 (girl) & 21 year old (boy). They intend to go to clubs / discos as well during this short stay - any advise of some good (safe - as can be) places where young ones can go? As well, any good local restaurants, bistros - with good food and not so expensive? Thank you for your help.
Hello! I went to Benidorm last year with my friend (we're both in our twenties), and although we had her two year old son with us, we managed to spot 'the places to be'!! Firstly, the big hotels will have bars and some really good entertainment to start the night off. There are LOADS of bars (cocktail bars seemed to be popular when I was there) to go to before the clubs open. We found all of these places safe and we felt secure. Along the beach is where everybody heads. As for safety, I think that it's just the same as going on a night out anywhere, the only difference being that the majority of people there are on holiday. This means that there are a lot more drunk people!!! I'd just remind the 'kids' about keeping their money safe, not accepting drinks off people if you're not at the bar to watch them being made, and not to get involved if there is any fighting etc. going on. The last thing that you'd want is to end up visiting your 'kids' in the hospital or police station. With the language barrier, it's harder to explain what exactly happened. We found all of the people great fun and friendly. There are lots of hen and stag parties too! This all equals an excellent night out if they remember to be safe! Enjoy Benidorm! Hayley :)
