Travel to Granada

by kmorlo16 Online Now Nov 25, 2006 at 4:49 PM

I will be in Benalmadena in February and I am interested in traveling to Granada for a day trip to see the Alhambra. I know I can take a day excursion on a motor coach with a tour guide, but I was wondering if there was a reasonably easy way to get from Benalmadena to Granada by train or bus? Thanks

In short, NO. Not unless you hire your own car.
The bus and train don't bring you in to Granada centre and you have to get from Benalmadena to Malaga in the first place (which is an hour) so public transport could take you about 4 hours one way. It is definitely worth paying the day excursion cost unless you are a car full of people sharing costs.
You need to have an official tour guide to visit the Alhambra at Granada or else you will not appreciate it nearly as much.
