Hi Jessica.... Hopefully you haven't located yet to Bellingham just yet...if you have.....I guess you already got your place all picked out. There are plenty of good neighborhoods in Bellingham. Just have to pick which one you would like to live at. Bellingham is growing at a fast pace, and buldings are come out of nowhere. For the price your willing to pay for a month, you can find yourself situated in a great place. The best place to check would be www.bellinghamherald.com. Any questions, just email me! Good Luck!! leo-

hi leo! i currently live in illinois. my boyfriend and i lived in wyoming for 4 months after we graduated college last summer. due to some situation we were pulled back to illinois, and well, we need somewhere aestetically pleasing again! washington just seemed to fit the bill. we are not huge city people (ie seattle), but we wanted to relocate to a place where (hopefully) we could find employment without too much problem, so thats why we came up with bellingham. do you live in bham?? if so, let me ask you this..can one make a living as a chef there (my bf has a culinary degree)? any advice about employment would be tremendous! for me, my degree is in anthropology (archaeology), but i wanted to try a different route and i may get my teaching liscense.

hey, just thought i'd add a little advice if you're still checking here for tips. i've lived in bellingham for over 5 years, went to the university here. not to be discouraging, but the employment rate in washington isn't the greatest right now, and especially in Bellingham. But it sounds like you won't be competing with college students for part time jobs. A good site to check is http://www.wa.gov/esd/employment.html, though it may not have jobs for chefs or anthropologists very often. www.kulshan.com is good site to visit overall, and lists a lot of local restaurants for your bf to check out. For you, you might consider contacting the anthro department at WWU and seeing if anyone there knows of jobs here in your area. A really good site for apartment searching is www.perfectspace.com, though this only lists property management offered rentals. For other listings, check www.theecho.com, a free ad website. Be prepared for gray skies, and then the most unexpected beautiful days ever. -jane

Hey, I've lived in bellingham my whole life. While there are grey skys and lots of rain, there is tons to do here. Were you able to find a good place to stay? Anyway, write me if you need any help at all or have any questions. Are you and your bf interested in hiking at all? have a great day! Chris hikingwithoutlimits@hotmail.com
