How would you get from Florence to Bellagio hire a car or how easy is it by public transport?
You could hire a car if you wished, of course. You might prefer to make part of the journey by train and hire from Milan or Como. Hi! I could suggest you to travel by train to Milan Centrale and then hire a car. The journey to Bellagio takes about 1.5hours and once you get out Milan (let's say 20minutes or so) the scenery is really nice. You can drive to Como and then head to Bellagio, then going back to Milan via Lecco. In this way you can enjoy 2 branches of the lake and the road is simply amazing. Milan-Bellagio-Milan takes about 3 hours driving slowly plus any stops.
