Re: bellagio trains
Well, there are a number of ways to accomplish this. One way would be to take the bus from Bellagio down to Como - #C30, which is fairly frequent (about once an hour irregularly). The website is trasporti.regione.lombardia.... , but it's all in Italian. To see the schedule:
1. Click on the home page on "Visualizza tutti gli orari" (on the middle left).
2. Click on the first option ("TUTTE LE LINEE CHE PASSANO DAL COMUNE DI ... ").
3. In the box, enter "Bellagio" and click on "Conferma".
4. You will see that the Como-Bellagio bus (C30) is the first one. Click on "Ritorno" to see the Bellagio-Como times.
Notes: "Fer6" means Monday through Saturday. "Scol" means school days. "Fest" means Sundays and holidays. You want to go all the way to the train station in Como, which is "Como staz. FS". This is Como S. Giovanni. There are 3 other train stations in Como that belong to a private railroad - this would also get you to Milano, but to a different station than Milano Centrale.
Once at Milano Centrale, you will be able to get to the Cinque Terre, probably through Genova. See www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html .
There are other alternatives, such as taking the ferry across the lake to Varenna and taking the train from there, but this is likely to be the most straightforward...let's see what others say...
