My husband and I are going at the last week of May. Very excited! Staying at changes in latitude I think close to San Pedro. Want to snorkel as much as possible! Sny info appreciated!! Have traveled the world and last March 2013 spent a long time in Thailand and some time on Kaoh Tao! It was amazing as is all of Thailand!! Beth

Where do the buses depart from in Belize City that go to San Ignacio? The Water Taxi Terminal or elsewhere? And do they have room for luggages?

Hi folks---we are in the planning stages for our trip to Belize this coming May or June---we have a house rental in LadyVille with use of a car---been reading about crime and such in the area, and I think we will be OK in this neighborhood----we have 3 day trips we want to do, and wondering if we can really do a day trip to Tikal from there? I was in Belize City once before, a few years ago and remember a lot of little shops outside the 'tourist' area. My wife makes jewelry and I was wondering if anyone knows of a place there where they sell beads. She uses a lot of different kinds of jasper.... Thanks! Kevin

We want to go to Belize either October or November, wanting to start by flying into Belize International Airport, then we want to go to Placencia for 3 nights, and then to the mountains (Five Sisters Lodge) for 3-4 nights, then back to the airport for our flight home. We may just veg at the beach not really needing a car, and the Lodge has tours with transportation included. What are our options with approximate costs for getting from the airport to Placencia, then to Five Sisters, and then back to the airport? I did look up Tropic Air from Belize City to Placencia at89 per person, sounds pretty good..... Specifically is Caracol worth a trip from the Lodge? Thanx in advance.....

We are planning our trip to this great country. My wife and myself, if possible due to the best part of the year for us (Willing to rescheduale) & our thought of the tours we are thinking of experienceing. We would love to be at an "All-Inclusive Resort" for 10-14 days, if possible, in November. We are also greatly interested in touring The Maya Sites and leaning of thier Great Heritage. We would greatly like to see and maybe spend a 2 day outting to see Xunan Tunich & Tikal, the largest known Mayan city. These 2 are a must for us. We would like to know the right places to stay and what it will take, if possible, the 2 day outting from the resort. Can the bookings of the tours be done through the resort, or, only available to be booked away from the resort. Please help. The two of us are greatly interested in a November trip, but need to know if it better to be done at a different time of the year. Any suggestions would be Greatly Appreciated

Hi all: we are trying to set up our holiday in Belize, and we had some questions on Crooked Tree wildlife sanctuary: a. We are looking for budget, but clean and safe accomodation for us 2 adults and 2 kids when we visit the sanctuary. Any suggestions? I did find Birds eye view lodge on the web, but it would be good to have a few more options. We are not looking for any high end resorts :) b. Do any of the folk who have birded at Crooked Tree have recommednations and contact for a good bird guide who could take us out on a day of birding. We are early risers and can keep going!! The kids are great too. We've had loads of success with birdingpals.org in teh past, but i havent gotten any responses this time around. So wondering if you could advise. We are planning to be around Crooked Tree April 6-10th or so... Thanks Chitra

i will be in belize city on cruise in a couple of weeks. i want to rent a taxi from port to belmapon. my business will take about 2 hours. want would cost be for a taxi for 5 hours or do you have other suggestions?

What's happening NYE 2010 in Caye Caulker? MelifluousMel

My mother and I land at BZE at 11:05am in mid-October. We'll have slept overnight at Atlanta Intl., so the trip doesn't sound too hard that day. I will be renting from Crystal Rental Cars. I figure that claiming bags and getting the car could take an hour and a half. So if we get on the road by 12:30 and find a spot for lunch, it will then be 1:30 before we are actually enroute to Alta Hun. At this point I'd like to know how far the drive from BZE area is and how long we should plan for walking about the ruins at Alta Hun. Our plans ultimately will take us to San Ignacio, and I'm wondering if seeing Alta Hun after the flight and basically acclimating to the heat, will be condusive to finishing the afternoon with our drive to San Ignacio. How long would that drive be realistically, from Alta Hun to San Ignacio? If we stay overnight after Alta Hun, would the Black Orchid Resort be a good logistic choice? Thanks for your thoughts!

Does anyone have advise about moving to Belize? Hubby wants an adventure - even though I tell him I'm the best adventure he'll ever have =)! We are getting out of Michigan! I have been told to stay North of San Pedro as the Mosquitoes and sand flies were less than South. Have looked at several nice properties south but am avoiding them. Is this correct? Currently looking at Grand Caribe

Please help!! My husband and I are making last-minute plans to vacation from July 1-6. We want a nice beach vacation, not overly touristy but not too remote. We'd love to go somewhere with clear water and comfortable beaches, great snorkeling (right off the beach and/or cheap and easy to get to), and some kind of small town with local restaurant options. We think we've narrowed it down to 2 good options: Ambergris Caye and Placencia. I understand that Ambergris Caye is a little more touristy than Placencia, but it doesn't seem like it's gotten too bad. Which place has the better beaches, the better snorkeling, the more interesting town? Or, is there anything else that we should be considering in comparing the two? Any information or opinions to help tip the scales would be useful! (Side note: the two hotels were looking at are Corona del Mar in AC, and Maya Beach Hotel in Placencia.)

We are arriving in Belize early June and would like to live aboard for 5 + days and sail around the islands. Are there any sailboat charters available or captains who charter their boats?

We will be in Belize for 1 day from a cruise ship. Don't want to do the usual tour things. Very interested in the Crooked Tree Sanctuary. How do we get there from the dock? What is the cost of transportation. Is this a good place for non bird people. Any other suggestions for the day in Belize?

I want to go to Ambergris Caye for some diving. I'm planning on taking the bus from either Cozumel or Guatemala City to Belize City, and then a boat over to Ambergris. Which bus journey is easiest/quickest? I've looked into flights but they're too expensive. Thanks!

We are trying to decide if we want to bring our laptop to Caye Caulker or use an internet cafe to access email everyday. We have an internet business so access is needed. Anyone know the cost of internet use in Cafe on Caye Caulker?

I will be in Caye Caulker in two weeks and plan on taking the 3 day Ragamuffin Tour to Placencia. I am reading mixed reviews. Anyone have current information on this? Thanks
