We will be in Belize City for one day as part of a cruise. What's the best touristy thing and the best local fun bar?
I haven't been to Belize yet (I'll be going for the first time in January) so perhaps I'm not the best person to answer your question, but judging from what I've read so far, it seems like there isn't much to see/do in Belize City. Perhaps if you're not sick of being on a boat you could hop on a water taxi to Caye Caulker (45 min ride, http://www.cayecaulkerwatertaxi.com) and spend the day there. There you'll find a few bars, the II Bar and the Lazy Lizard seem to be pretty popular. Hope you enjoy your day in Belize!

Check out the cave tubing and zipline tour... is at the Jaguar Paw in Belize city.. is a day trip, you zipline in the rainforest, then take a short hike up a river, and tube back through the caves... usually includes lunch, and shuttle...check with activities director on cruise, most likely they will have info. Have fun, Belize is pretty!
