No trains from Belgium to Paris on 11th June??!!

by Dobbitt Online Now Jun 2, 2010 at 3:39 PM

Thalys website says that there will be engineering work in Belgium between 11th-14th June, so apparently we will not be able to travel from Belgium (probably Brugge) to Paris (where we already booked our hotel room for 6 days). Is there any other travel option by train? If not where can we find a bus option? Thanks a lot!

Look a little closer. It's only Thalys 9455 from Paris Nord (dep. 18:25) that is affected on 11th June (only running Paris Nord-Bruxelles Midi)

If you don't mind taking the bus, here's the link to it: http://www.eurolines.be/

It looks best to do is to take a bus for us to Paris from Anwers or Gent. By the way why are the train tickets so expensive? A train ticket by Thalys is 81 Euro min. from Anwers to Paris while it's only 25 Euro by bus.

You can get Thalys tickets from EUR 25 when booked minimum 30 days in advance. Train is more expensive because it's faster and more comfortable.
