Do you know the name/location of this restroom, with these red lady-shaped sinks?
flickr.com/photos/redhawk170...
The restaurant was located just outside the west side of the Forbidden City in Beijing (China).
The photographer "redhawk1700" took the photo some years ago and doesn't recall the name of the restaurant anymore.
Thanks for your help!

Does anyone know where I can find good beer in China? I'll be visiting Beijing and Shanghai next month, and I'd like to check out the beer scene if there is one
I have found cheap tickets online to Beijing for Christmas and New Year 2013/2014. We would like to stay a couple of days in Beijing and then go somewhere nice for sun and beaches. We have been searching for cheap flight tickets from Beijing to Bali, elsewhere in Indonesia, Philippines, etc, but it is hard make a decent search when we are not sure about where we want to go. All we know is Beijing as the departure city and low cost flights to a beach.
Does anyone know a nice and sunny place where flight tickets are cheap from Beijing?
We have already been to Thailand and Malaysia so we would like to try a differt country. Another stop a couple of days in Seoul or Hong Kong might be possible as well so cheap flights from there to nice beaches would also be an option.
Thank you from Lena
Hi everyone,
my husband is traveling to Beijing for work and staying for 2 months, so we were wondering what would be the best way to communicate while he's there and we heard different stories... Are Skype / Viber / Gmail working in China? Any other suggestion?
Thank you all in advance :)
I am from USA, and I am going to be leaving school to work a 6 week internship in Beijing starting June 1, 2013, and I need to find an inexpensive place to live for that time. I am not picky at all, I would just like a place where I know my stuff is safe. The cheaper the better. I am not sure what part of the city I will be working, but on Google Maps it's located on Jinrong Street, Xicheng, Beijing. I would like to be kind of close to that, but I do not mind a commute. Thank you!
Hi Guys, it will be my first time going to Beijing so am excited to see everything! I am an expat living in Hong Kong, so I relatively know how to bargain in Hong Kong, but wanted to know if it's the same in Beijing or there's different tactics with it? Is there anything I should be careful with or not bargain for? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
We are flying to Beijing then on to Xian for a couple of days, returning via train to Beijing and staying at the Park Plaza. We are not wanting to take all our luggage with us to Xian. I am wondering if there is a luggage service to take our luggage to the hotel in Beijing ahead of time, or if we could leave it at the airport or if we should just take it with us. We will have 3 suitcases and only want to take one to Xian. Suggestions?
1. Any suggestion on a hotel with a really good heating system to help during winter. I’ve been reading forums about traveling to Beijing during winter time and most complaints would include (heaters in not good condition/not working properly) which would be very troublesome especially if one is traveling with a toddler. Good heat and comfort during winter should always be a priority.
2. Which area in Beijing would be convenient for us to stay? (ex. CBD, etc.) Where we can arrange for easy day tours like Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, etc. and that travel time wouldn’t be so complicated as we have a child as mentioned. I don’t wanna make the same mistake I did last time (in a different place) where I booked a hotel and not digging up more info before I started booking, only to end up booking a place that is 2 hours away from the rest of the crowd. Pick up time too early (they need to pick us up first since our place is too far) and we’re last to be dropped off (since again, our place is the farthest from all the rest).
3. Any other tips pertaining to this trip are very much welcome.
Thank you all In advance for your help :)
What is the best way of getting to the Great Wall at Mutianyu? I would prefer not to go on a bus tour. For example, is it possible to hire a car and driver for the day? Roughly how much would that cost? Are there other ways of visiting Mutianyu? Thanks
Hi travelling with husband and 8 year old child initially to beijing and then on to either chengdu or guilin in may. have booked first 2 nights accomm - how easy is it or realistic is it to book accomdation when there or should we really think about pre booking before we leave uk?
I am going to Beijing from the United States this spring after May 19th and I am curious about the cheapest way to travel to Beijing (cheapest place to take a flight from). From the research I've done, flying to Las Vegas from Dallas (where I live) and then taking a flight to Beijing is actually cheaper, but I was curious as to if you guys (and girls!) had any advice.
Thank you in advance for any help, I would really appreciate it. (poor college student. :C )
We are spending 5 day sin Beijing in September and have sourced a company called Beijing Tours .com. Has anyone used them before - are they reliable etc???
We will be arriving at Beijing international airport (T2) around 1 am (morning). Our tour guide can only pick us up from 9 am. We have around 8 hrs at the airport and plan to stay in the airport lounge. Please advise: a) Any airport lounge that we can rest/ take a bath at the airport at this time? b) If the lounge inside or outside the immigration check point? If inside, can we pick up our luggage, check in lounge immediately? Then we pass through immigration after rest in lounge? c) Otherwise is there any Suana or SPA that we can check in the city for rest? Otherwise please let us know the best alternatives. Thank you.
My wife and I are boarding a cruise ship in Tianjin in May. We will be spending a few days in Beijing prior to departure. Can someone advise please......can I purchase liquor (Scotch Whisky) in a "normal" supermarket in Beijing, or should I be looking for a "specialist type liquor store"? Thanks......\\\
Tried googling this but couldn't come up with anything, what are the general hours of the night market, especially the souveniers vendors. Also, do the vendors also sell non insect based foods, like chicken, beef, etc?
If you had limited time in the forbidden palace, just a few hours, 3 hiurs max, which areas would you visit? We are not big history people, we like looking at buildings/interesting architecture more than anything.
I am assuming that there are an abundance of foot reflexology places in bejing, in particular near the forbidden palace? If so, what hours are they generally open?
Has anyone used Bejing tours guide company? are they to be trusted? I can not find any reviews for them except for on their own web site, we are wanting to do a tour of Bejing Xian and Shanghai has anyone done this tour? any advice would be great thanks
My wife and I are booked to catch a cruise ship from Beijing to Alaska. Whilst in Beijing we will stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown Hotel....the address is ...... 98 Beilishilu Xicheng District Beijing , 10037. Can someone please tell me how far the location of this hotel is from the cruise Terminal, and how long we should expect it to take for a taxi to cover the distance. Hi, 1. How should I go from airport to Kempinski hotel? 2. If I take the airport train and change at San Yuan Qiao station, do I have to climb up the stairs? Also from Liang Ma Qiao station up, do they have escalator/elevator? 3. Or should I take the shuttle bus? Thank you very much!
I plan for a family visit to Beijing for 6 days or a week, I have a few accomodation plan in mind : A ) change hotel every day to experience as much as possible B ) stay for 2 nights at one hotel, to lodge at least 3 hotels at 3 different locations C ) stick to only 1 hotel, do not need to worry on the belongings, just be very simple while on our sightseeing. What is your choice and welcome any good ( 2-3 stars )hotel recommendation.
AirAsia flying KLIA-LCCT (1835) to PEK arrival time is 0110 the next morning. Is the subway to city operates at the midnight ? or I just need to pay more for a taxi to the city.
We 3 (Self, wife & 1 Son = 8 years old) are to visit beijing from 19th Oct (arrival mid night)to 28th Oct. Pl suggest Hotels (3/4 star) same or different location? Preferred daily tours, transport, guides if required, etc Thanks
Interested in visting China and needing information on a recommended tour company for a trip that might be considered somewhat of an independent tour. Independent in that I'd like to save money and use airline award miles for free air travel to China, and use hotel award points for free hotel night stays in Beijing and Shanghai. Yet, while staying in Beijing and Shanghai, I'd like to have a tour company provide us with city tours and local transportation. Also, would want tour to include Xian and Yangtze River cruise. So I am not necessarily sure if it's an independent tour that I am looking for, but basically, I'd like to find a highly recommended tour company for a China tour, but for air, and hotels in Beijing and Shanghai, I'd prefer to book seperately on my award points and miles. Any recommendations our suggestions for possibilites or options for what I am trying to do? Thank you!
Do Beijing's subway stations have elevators or just escalator. In our party is an elderly who uses a wheelchair although not completely wheelchair bound.
