Easiest way is probably by taking the free bus shuttle to Luton Airport Parkway train station. From there take the train to Bedford station.

That is undoubtedly the easiest way. Luton Airport Parkway station is at the end of the airport runway, a short ride on the airport shuttle bus will take you there. Then the trains will take you into Bedford in about half an hour. Trains run every 15 minutes, 7 days a week until after midnight, with one train every hour during the dead of night. It's a commuter line with very frequent service, so there no reservations or advance purchase or even timetables to worry about.

    Hope that helps.

www.naionalrail.co.uk will give you train times, details and fares from BEdfor to Luton Airport Parkway station.

Buses from the station to the airport are frequent, taking around 10 minutes.although recent changes to the roads by the airport mean that there can be long queues to enter at certain times of day.

If you don't want the hassle of humping luggage onto/off train and onto/off shuttle bus you can go direct bby coach from Bedford to the airport.

National Express coaches take a longish time (3+ hours), because there is a wait at Cambridge included, but you may prefer this is flight times allow. Best to book online or at the Nat Ex office in Bedford beforehand. One-way fare is 12.20 for OAPs. www.nationalexpress.com will give you times and details.
