Does anyone know of a good hotel to stay in Beaune? I would prefer something with a central locations for strolling around, romantic if possible. Cheers, Douglas

We really enjoy the Hotel Grillon. It isn't central but it is an easy walk into Old Town Beaune. It's about a half mile. There is parking at the marketplace right outside of Old Town too if you decide to drive back and forth. M. & Mme. Grillon who run the hotel are a wonderful young couple. She speaks perfect English and we're told he does too but he's always used French with us. Mme. Grillon makes the world's best kir too. That's always a plus. Here's their web site and if you can get that particular room, it's the most romantic . . . although the place is lovely. It's surrounded by a garden and has a swimming pool and very nice restaurant right on the grounds. You can have breakfast on the terrace if you like . . . or have a kir there in the evening! http://www.hotel-grillon.fr/ There are a couple more photos on my VT Beaune Travel Page if you're interested. Enjoy your trip. Beaune is a great location in a wonderful area.

Le Cep Hotel has a very good reputation amongst American travelers (it must be full of them!)Very expensive and very nice. Dijon can be very romantic as well... welcome to Burgundy!
