If you can only pick two war museums to see which two would you pick? We are also going to Vimy Ridge and Ypres to see the WW1 Museums also. Thanks for your response Jack
The Bayeux Military Museum ( Musee Memorial de la Bataille de Normandie 1944) is excellent as is The D-Day Landing Museum in Arromanches www.normandie1944.fr/

Another one to look at is the Caen Memorial.

Notice that the WWI museum "In Flanders Flields" in Ypres will be closed for renovation in December and January. And also some other periods in 2011. In France, I'd certainly visit the Memorial in Caen and the WWII Landing Beaches.

I would definitely visit the Caen Peace Memorial. My other choice would not be a museum; I'd go to the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach. There is a lot of history there, very nice memorials and a chapel. Type Colleville-sur-Mer into your VT Search Window to see what VT members have written about it. Caen would be the name to type in for Peace Memorial info. For WWI have you thought of Verdun?

Thanks everyone for your quick replies. We will be spending approx 10 days Touring the WW1 & WW2 sites. Will be driving the whole coast from Dunkirk, Dieppe and all five landing beaches, plus a few major cemeteries. Again Thanks to everyone. Jack

Jack, I notice you are Canadian. There is a small but lovely Canadian War Cemetery near Cintheaux just south of Caen off the N158. You might enjoy a visit there. We love it in autumn when the Canadian maple trees are in full color. Enjoy your trip.
