Although this sounds a bit macabre we will be in Bath later this year, visting from Wetern Australia. I understand my husband's ancestor died in BATH and was buried Bathwick Cemetery about 1838. We'd like to visit his grave, any ideas as to what the most likely cemetery would be?
Well, curiosity got the better of me and I had a look on the UK Genealogy website www.genuki.co.uk genuki.org.uk/big/eng/SOM/Ba... Apparently the cemetery called Bathwick Cemetery in Bath was only opened in 1856. 1838 would be very early for a cemetery, they were normally opened when the population exploded mid to late C19th and the local churchyard was full. Maybe you need the parish church, which was around in 1838.

Thanks Sean - sounds like it might also be worthwhile checking the Church Register beforehand.
