I have NO car and will need to use Public Transport......I want to plan a trip to see Mont St Michel, Bayeaux (possibly??) I have a few days to spend. And then spend a few days in the Loire Valley -see the chateaux (but NOT overkill) and enjoy the areas. From there i would like to go to Provence (not sure where to base in Provence), but have about a week to spend in Provence. Any suggestions??
I would greatly appreciate Thank you in advance....
We have some friends coming over on a quick trip are there any hypermarkets open on Sunday 1st December? coming into Cherbourg
Thanks in advance

We will be visiting Normandy for a week in the middle of october and I was wondering what family attractions there were in and around Cherboug. I have found lots of information on the war museums etc but was also looking for other things to entertain the children
What is your question? How can i go to Mont Saint Michell and back the same day in the schedule 8am to 3;30 pm and the cost for 2 people?
Hi, a few of us are going to caen for the day as foot passengers. We are looking to head to Mondeville 2 for shopping- how far away is this from the ferry port? Do you know the best way we can get there? We have also seen that there is a Saturday morning market in ouistreham. Does anyone know what this market is like and how to get there? Any advice would be kindly recieved!! Many thanks :-)
How many days / evenings would you suggest staying in Honfleur? We will not have a car and are currently planning on staying one full Sunday afternoon (coming from Paris) and a full day on Monday, leaving for Bayeux Tuesday morning. Is this too much time to take in Honfleur? We were looking for a quaint town to soak in some good food, wine and shops. TY!
I am coming to Grandcamp Maisy next week and wondered if there was anything happening locally that would be of interest?
Fingered crossed for good weather.
Our group is visiting Mont St. Michel on 9/24/13. I've read some unfavorable comments regarding the crowds and distances people had to walk to get to the shuttle. I also read if you are staying in a hotel/motel in the La Caserne area you can park at your hotel and just walk to shuttle, but you need to get an access code. We have reservations at Hotel Le Beauvoir because we could not get into Hotel le Relais du Roy. Is it in the Lacaserne area, if not, what should we expect? Honor Branch, Baltimore, MD
Hello! I'm new to this forum and have some questions about a possible day trip to Caen in October.
I'm planning on getting the overnight ferry from Portsmouth due to arrive in Ouistreham at 6.45am. I've not taken the ferry before, does anyone know how long it takes after docking to exit the ferry? Also will anywhere be open at that time for breakfast or are we better off driving to to the center of Caen? How long in the drive from the post to the city centre? Is it easy to park?
As I am planning a day trip, the return ferry back to Portsmouth is at 16.30. Assuming we have to get to the port an hour before hand, is that enough time to visit the castle, eat croissants and have a wander around the town?
Any tips or advice on ferry travel to Caen and what is achievable during such a short trip is greatly appreciated!
We are arriving on a cruise ship in L'Havre. How much would a cab cost to Honfleur and will they be waiting at the docks?
i want to hire a 12 to 15 seater bus with driver
From the Mont Saint Michel it seems that tomorrow there is not tide difference to see. Is that true?
What is route of Bus 8 in Caen from city centre to Stade d' Ornano
What is the best way to get direct to Redon from Bayeux? We need to leave in the morning and arrive in Redon late morning or early afternoon? I am thinking a bus or train but not sure if this is possible. If it is not possible can we rent a car in Bayeux and drop it off in Redon? If so, how long of a drive?
Can anyone tell me where I can get one from please
Does anyone know how to get from Cherbourg to Camping L'Anse du Brick by public transport? I emailed the campsite about it but all they told me is; there is a bus that runs only twice a day. That's it; nothing more than that... which is not very useful... I hope I find the answer on here! Thanks! =)
Hi my name is Linda I'm an Ausie. traveling in early September 2013. Can anyone help me please, I want to do a days excursion from Le Havre to Caen and return. How far is it, is it do-able in a day? or can I get a private driver to do the driving for me? I hope I am not being to ambitious.
Is there anywhere in Cherbourg where German Liebfraumilch or Hock is available? We used to obtain supplies from Majestic which has now closed. I am looking for at least 72 1.5 litre bottles.
Thanks and regards
Due to a strike (and a long dispute...), the Abbey is closed to visitors, at least until wednesday. BUT YOU CAN STILL VISIT THE MOUNT!
I'm sure this has been answered previously and I will certainly seek info from the actual site as my trip gets closer (11/13) but should I take one of the tours of the abbey or just spend a few hours freestyle? I don't want to tie up several hours with a tour---wondering if they offer a variety of tours or one size fits all? Thoughts, anyone? Thank you!
I have to use an electric wheelchair to get around. How "wheelchair friendly" is Honfleur? Are there many cobbled streets?
Is it very hilly?
Are there plenty of reasonable drop-down kerbs for wheelchair users to cross the roads?
Do most popular buildings have wheelchair access?
Are there accessible toilets for wheelchair users?
Staying in hotel near St Catherine church Hornfleur ,anyone know where nearest free parking?
I am planning a day trip from Paris to Mont Saint Michel---I'm seeking the fastest & quickest way to get me there--assuming that would be the high speed train that goes to Rennes & then the 37 mile bus ride to MSM--is that correct?
Also, how do I coordinate my return trip via bus to train ---? Do the train/bus vary greatly during the non-tourist season?
are there any day trips to d day museums, or is there an easy bus service?
Are there any private guides that have a good reputation and will pick up and return to the Rennes station and give a guided abbey tour. I have pregnant daughter and we want to avoid the long bus ride from paris for a day trip to MSM
I am overnighting in Mont St Michel this Friday night and have looked at all the train/bus schedules to Rennes from where I HAVE to catch the 9h05 TGV back to Paris. There are no trains/buses available to get me there on time. Are there any other options or must I book a private car?
We will be staying near vire with 3 children (aged 5, 2 and 1). I have located 2 zoos nearby but does anyone have any further suggestions for places to visit which are children friendly?
We are independent travelers and want to know if we have to book tickets in advance to se Mont Saint Michel. Merci!!
Is there a shuttle, bus, or train from Grand Camp to Mont St Michel
