Hi. Normandy in 4 days is a stretch but you should be able to see a lot. If you are landing in Rouen, take the time to visit it. It's a lovely city with several beautiful churches and a delightful Old Town area. http://www.rouentourisme.com If you want to see Mont Saint Michel, you have a bit of a drive. It's at the very western end of Normandy, nearly in Brittany. On the way, you will pass Honfleur, Caen, Bayeux and the D-Day Beaches, all of which are worth a visit. http://en.ot-honfleur.fr/ http://www.memorial-caen.fr/ mont-saint-michel.monuments-... ot-montsaintmichel.com/index... I would think that might take your four days. All that is in Lower Normandy (Basse Normandie). Upper Normandy (Haute Normandie) is another very large section of France that you may want to save for another trip. The most-visited site there may be Giverny and I highly recommend it if you enjoy Monet's art. There is also the Museum of the American Impressionists with a free garden in Giverny that often gets bypassed and it is lovely. We also enjoy the very medieval Lyons-la-Foret and on the coast, Etretat with it's famous high cliffs and rock portals is amazing. It might help you to go to viaMichelin and type in several possible itineraries. The web site will give you a little map, the time it will take, tolls if there are any and there are links for hotels and restaurants too. You can choose highways or scenic routes by clicking on the radio buttons. http://www.viamichelin.com/ Also, type the various towns that interest you into the VT Search Window above and see what VT members have already written about these places. There will be things to do, hotels, photos, restaurants and web links to help your planning. You can click on the names of people who answer you here and visit their Travel Pages on the various places. Lots of photos and tips already here for you. Enjoy your trip.

Hi. Just for fun, I plugged the following itinerary into viaMichelin.com. Paris to Giverny Giverny to Rouen Rouen to Honfleur Honfleur to Caen Caen to Bayeux (visit D-day beaches on this leg of the trip) Bayeux to Mont Saint Michel Mont Saint Michel back to Paris Just click "Add a destination" to get it all on your map. Looks like fun if the weather cooperates.

. . . and you could go back via Fougeres, Le Mans and Chartres for a nice circle. Altogether it's 10 hours driving time but that's not bad divided over 4 days. You'd still have time to see some of the sights.

Great area to visit. I would take the high speed train from the airport in Paris and rent a car in Caen, the train is faster and will save several hours of driving and potential issues with Paris traffic. I would spend at least half a day on the D-Day beaches. I agree that Mt St Michel is a must see (I have been there twice.) There are dozens of small cities with spectacular churches across the region. Last summer we had a nice visit to the old walled city center in St Malo. Enjoy!

Hi there On the list of what I would definitely go & see in Basse Normandie: the Bayeux tapestry, which is a unique and well preserved pice of history and the American cementary of Collevill esur Mer as it is a wonderful & stunning site, charged with emotions and a deep sense of history too. This on top of Mont St Michel.4 day is a stretch but it is doable if you don't try to do too much. A
