campsites rent by the day so do not know why you have problems. The one week is for those who rents chalets or mobile homes. I use the org to rent my in summers, and on the location near Cherbourg you can rent min 2 nights yellohvillage.fr/camping/les... hope it helps

July is high season and most campsite will indeed only do 7 days deal if you do not have your own tent. Only suggestion is to use Googlemap or specialist camping web directory and keep ringing them to see if one place will take you on. Alternative would be to rent a flat or book a cheap hotel but I'm sure you thought of that already A

no I am from here and you can rent tents for weekends and min two nights , of course for 6 persons and july there may not be any available. Just to clarify the options. HOpe it helps
