Caen-Bayeux and Victory Day

I´m going to go to Caen and Bayeux and perhaps I´ll be arriving for the Victory Day (May 8)and I want to know: 1) Is there a trouble to find a hotel to spend a night by this date without taking it in advance? 2) Where is it better to stay to go to the D Day Beaches and the Cemeteries in a half day tour, Caen or Bayeux? I have seen that there are half day tours from Bayeux Train Station. Is it true? 3)Where is cheaper to stay Caen or Bayeux? 4) One day and a half or maybe two days Are enough time to see both places? Since now thanks for your replies.
