Best Rocky Mountain National Park Trails

      Colorado Yesterday

We will be staying in Estes Park for 2 nights in August. We would like to do some exploring and hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park and do not want to waste time.

Does anyone recommend any must do hiking trails?

      Thanks!

Rocky Mountain National Park / Estes Park

      Colorado May 30, 2015 at 11:44 AM

Hello fellow traveler! We will be traveling to Colorado during the 2nd week of August for our first time. We will be renting a cabin for only 2 night in  Estes Park.

      1) Are there any recommendation of specific lodges to rent for the 2 nights? There will be 4 of us, not looking for anything too fancy or expensive because we would like to maximize our time outdoors.

      2) Is there anything specific you would recommend as a "must do" while in Estes Park and National Mountain Rocky Park?

Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Trying to plan the ultimate 30th for my husband - Traveling to Denver

      Denver May 11, 2015 at 9:45 AM

      Hi everyone,

I am from Ottawa, Canada, and I am planning a surprise trip to Denver CO for my husbands 30th. He is a MASSIVE Die-Hard Broncos Fan and it has always been his dream to see a Broncos home game in Denver.

I am purchasing tickets for the Oct 4th game so we will be in Denver that week. (I am also looking for suggestions on where the best seats are in the stadium... I don't want to mess this up and I'm sure some are better than others - trying to keep it around $300-$400 a ticket)

Other than the Tailgate party, stadium tour and of course.. the GAME!! I am looking for some fun ideas for the remainder of our trip.

I want this trip to be all about him and his favorite things.
Other than LOVING anything to do with football, he is into vintage muscle cars, scotch/whiskey, cigars and of course a good steak. All things I would like to treat him to while we are there.

I of course also want to explore the beauty of Denver, and really just looking for fun things to do and places to see!
Any and all suggestions are very appreciated.
Thank you all so much! :)

      Emily.

    • Basalt , The Frying Pan and Rileys @ Rudi was my Home.

While growing up in Colorado in the 50's-80's I spent many of those years in the Basalt and Reileys Ranch along the Frying Pan, even before the resivior was built, and learned how to fish the river and even to this day, Still consider the area my Home away from Home. Can any of your members send mew pictures of the river as it now looks from Basalt to the resivior (Rudi) and also reserch a place I used to stay with my dad, called Reilys Ranch along the tiver about 10 miles (I think) from Basalt. I would also like to know if anyone remembers the Lucksinger family that had a lake and a parcel of ranch land above the town of Basalt? I in later years learned that they sold the property to the state of Colorado and the lake was used as a hatchery for trout populations for the entire area. Would really like to know if the Lucksinger clan is even in any phone directories in the area?
      Thank you all very much.
